Memorial-Day-Photos

On Memorial Day

Young, determined and bold.
Ready to represent the Stars and Stripes.
Wearing camouflage next to fellow soldiers.
Unsure of the upcoming strife.
Early mornings, discipline ahead.
Unaware of all the blood that will be shed.
Leaders quarreling, countries ready for war.
Boats creep upon unknown shores.
Fully equipped, trained I suppose.
Writing letters on top of war torn clothes.
Missing family not sure of what’s to come.
Going home again will be the plan for some.
For others this will not be the same.
Carried in wooden boxes on military planes.
Freedom is usually always taken for granted.
However don’t forget how it is planted.
