He sang about being “Nobody’s Hero” but ironically on National Suicide Prevention Day, rockstar Jon Bon Jovi helped lead a distraught woman to safety in Nashville.
What Happened
The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge over the Cumberland River was open to the public while Bon Jovi and his crew were shooting scenes for a music video there. Bon Jovi and a production assistant noticed the woman on the ledge. He approached the woman, spoke with her, and then helped her to back onto the platform. They continued speaking and he embraced before walking her from the bridge with local police who brought her to a hospital for evaluation.
Nashville Police Chief John Drake praised Bon Jovi for his actions and added that “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
