5 Ways to Set Your Mind Up For Success

We’ve all been there. You’re halfway through your day unsure of how you got down the rabbit trail you’re on. Little things can pop up easily, causing us to dwell and unable to move forward. By setting your mind up for success every morning, it will help to keep you on a strong positive path all day long. This way, when life does happen, you’re able to take it on without fear or worry. This may look different for everyone, but here’s a few tips to get you started!

1. Play something that’s easy to listen to

While listening to the news is a great way to stay informed and up to date, opting to start your day with an easy instrumental or upbeat music is known to set us up well.

2. Keep your physical space clean

Studies have shown that having a cluttered space can limit your ability to focus on other tasks and move forward. By taking an extra minute or two to make your bed, you’re no longer thinking about the mess waiting for you back home!

3. Plan your day

Plans change, and that’s okay! Something as simple as having a loose schedule for your day written down can help to free up space in your mind, just as a well-made bed opens space in your room. Having tasks written down ensures that you don’t have to spend your time worrying about what you might forget.

4. Start big, end small.

“How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” When your day seems like its a bit too much to handle the best way to take it on is one task at a time. But try the most challenging ones first, while your willpower is strong. Now, at the end of the day, the bites don’t seem too big.

5. Establish your routine.

When you start well, you end well. Having a morning routine set for your Monday-Friday can help you to solve problems before they start. By doing things like packing your lunch, checking the weather and planning your outfit the night before will get you out the door without a hitch, already set up for success.
