7 Mood Boosters

7 Ways to Boost Your Mood in 7 Minutes

It’d be pretty easy to say that the last few months have been a bit difficult. Many of us are out of routines and our day-to-day habits which can contribute to a loss of control, and feeling like we’re not quite ourselves.

Sometimes the only thing that we need is a quick mood booster to turn our day around!

Write it out.

Go ahead! Set your timer for 5 minutes, and start. When you’re able to write your thoughts out without second-guessing how it will sound, we often see that our problems aren’t so big when we look at them on paper.

Call someone you love.

We all need each other! In the moments when things are a little too tough to handle, try calling a friend and ask them about something ‘trivial’. Talking about a new book or what your kids are doing might be the very thing that you need to take your mind off of your feelings!

Dance it out.

Throw a WFH living room jam party. Trust us, no one will judge you.

Gratitude.

What are five things that you are thankful for? Say them out loud! Hearing yourself count your blessings will shift your mind from focusing on the negative to the positive.

Work it out.

Sometimes your body just needs to move! Go for a quick run around the block in the sun, or even do a few jumping jacks in your living room.

Give yourself a pat on the back.

We often don’t give ourselves the credit we deserve. Take a moment and consider five things you’ve done this past week that you’re proud of. It will make the thing that you’re not so proud of feel that much smaller!

Take a deep breath.

A 5-7 minute long one to be exact. Set your timer and simply focus on your breathing. It might be the reset that your mind (and body) needed.

Remember, if you or a loved one are having a difficult time, it’s okay to ask for help. That’s why we’re here!

In the meantime, give one of these mood boosters a try! It’ll only take a few minutes, and they might even turn your day around.
